The EOTech 552 XR308 is a holographic reflex sight with NV ( Night Vision) switching, specifically designed for night vision viewing. Previously, such systems were only available for government and military applications. Certain models of EOTech are still reserved for the U.S. military only. Fortunately, at least the EOTech 512, 552, XPS and EXPS military models have received approval for the civilian market. First and foremost, the Holographic Sights were designed for rapid target acquisition and accurate shot placement, keyword driven hunting. The combination of the large sight window and a narrow frame allows simultaneous aiming with both eyes without loss of field of view. The Eotech 552 XR 308, unlike the 552, has a reticle designed for .308 caliber. Instead of the usual dot/circle reticle, there is a cross-dot reticle with 3 additional lead marks up to 1.2km shooting distance.
